While the dispensing optician follow the prescription and make the lenses and glasses as per the prescriptions. The specialty of the dispensing optician lies in his capability to correctly interpret the prescription and make the lenses as per specification.
The dispensing opticians are qualified enough to suggest customers about the suitable frame, lens and lens coating etc as per need and profession of the customer keeping into the consideration of customers budget. In case the customer has lost the prescription the dispensing optician is qualified enough to replicate the previous set of lenses with the help of foci meter. In addition to all this a dispensing optician can make the new set of lenses / glasses with the help of customer’s old record.
Some of the dispensing opticians have knowledge and experience of the technical requirements of laboratory technicians who are experts in sizing and fitting the lenses and glasses into the frame.
